'Danger and Delight' features a beautiful handmade picture cabochon on dichroic glass made by Misty Valley Studio's. These cab's are no longer being made so are extremely rare. The straps are made with Japanese seed beads and incorporate mother of pearl beads. The fringe is Czech glass and red mountain jade beads. The colours in the necklace appear foreboding with the blood red against the white. The picture cab itself shows a butterfly landing on flowers, but the colours in the background could almost conjure up a raging bushfire in the distance, colouring the sky a deep red. Its this juxtaposition of themes that inspired the name 'Danger and Delight'.
"Love is just the space between our danger and delight."
Dan Vera
Ambrosia (Excerpt - from poetry of chocolate)
what sonorous melody moves us
to dance between danger and delight?
I am living dangerously
eating chocolate in a white dress
for once you were reserved for gods and kings alone
